Captures
The motivation behind introducing captures
This page will aim to discuss captures and their value. If you haven't, you might want to check out the reference page for captures for a basic intro to what captures are. If you're looking to use captures, follow our how-to guide to captures.
Use case
If you've ever ordered something online, you might have noticed that your phone offers to save your address and some of your payment info. If you do that, the payment info is available for future orders, since these are the same fields that are needed for any order.
This is exactly our idea with the captures. Some of your documents will often require the same input data, so we want to make it possible for you to reuse it.
Intended use
You're able to create as many captures as you need, and they can be used in any of the documents that you create. Whenever you, as a user, notice that you're frequently filling out the same document with the same data, you should save those values to a capture and use the capture to avoid unnecessary manual work.
Admins can still disable captures on some form fields, which is especially useful in critical documents, where you want to make sure that the users carefully considered each response.
