Overview

As an operator, you can assign operator permissions to other users. Assigning operator access grants structural and governance control at the organization level.

Operator is the highest possible permission level in Omnidocs Create. They allow the assigned user to manage organizations, control branding, configure authentication, and publish shared units across the hierarchy. You should only assign this role to trusted users who understand the impact of organization-level changes.

What happens when you assign operator access

When you assign operator permissions to a user:

• The user gains access to the Operator section in the sidebar
• The user can manage all sub-organizations within the organization
• The user can configure authentication and branding
• The user can share and publish units

How to assign an operator

To assign operator permissions:

1. Open the operator organization's settings
2. Navigate to Members, depending on your setup
3. Find the user you want to modify
4. Assign the Operator role by selecting the "O" in the permission options.

Once granted, the user immediately gains operator access.

You should verify that the user understands their responsibilities before granting access.

Removing operator access

If a user should no longer act as an operator, you can remove the Operator role.

To remove operator access:

1. Open the operator organization's settings
2. Navigate to Members, depending on your setup
3. Find the user you want to modify
4. Remove the Operator role by deselecting the "O" in the permission options.

The change takes effect immediately.

Removing operator permissions does not remove other roles the user may have.

Scope of operator permissions

Operator permissions apply to the organization where they are assigned.

If the organization has sub-organizations, the assigned operator gains authority across all of them. This includes:

• Organization management
• Branding configuration
• Authentication configuration
• Unit sharing and publishing
